Meet Bridget Bauhard

Updated: Jun 9, 2023

Hi everyone, my name is Bridget Bauhard! I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada but I’ve been in

Arizona since I was four years old. I don’t remember much of Nevada, other than there was one time it snowed and since we didn’t have regular mittens, we had to use socks to cover our hands! I’ve worked a number of customer service jobs, I was a barista for Starbucks, a juicerista for a place called Clean Juice, interned as the TRACON simulator coordinator at Arizona State University, and I worked the front desk at the Arizona State Sun Devil Fitness Complex. Working the front desk at Red Rock has been my first step towards my involvement in aviation post college!

Aviation has always been something that’s interested me. When I went on my eighth

grade Washington D.C field trip, all I wanted to see was the Air & Space Museum at the Smithsonian. I

can also say that the movie Top Gun inspired a love for aviation as well - I think most can agree to that statement. Recently, I graduated from Arizona State University in their Air Traffic Management program. After graduation, everyone’s favorite question to ask me was “So, what are you going to do next? Air traffic control?” Even though I graduated from the program, I wasn’t entirely sold on the idea of becoming a controller for the next 25 years of my working life. Initially when I applied to Arizona State, I did want to become a controller but as I went through the

program, I changed course and wanted to go into more management and logistics within the airlines.

Since then, it’s been my dream to work for the National Transportation Safety Board studying the causes behind commercial airline crashes. I know I have a long way to go, so the goal for now is to see where life takes me and hopefully get my foot in the door with an airline’s safety department.

Other hobbies of mine include reading, my current read at the moment is Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. I also enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my friends. Recently, I had a trip to New York with a couple of friends of mine and I had a blast! A couple of my other interests include watching baseball (Go Angels!), baking, and plane spotting.

I’ve lived in Arizona my entire life but I’ve visited several states, I want to say maybe 11 so far? My favorites have been California, North Carolina, New York, and Hawaii. My favorite food is french fries! An interesting fact about me is that I’m an encyclopedia of

airplane crash information, just ask and I’ll probably know. I think the most important attribute in humans is to be empathetic towards others!

Both of my parents are my heroes. They have always been in my corner and have endlessly supported me, which is all I could ever ask for. My dad also shares my love for aviation, we both share the same favorite WWII bird - the P-51 Mustang. My mom had two people in her family involved in aviation, her dad worked for TWA and her mom worked for Northwest. I also have a younger brother, Justin, who always keeps me on my toes. I also have two cats, both tuxedos named Luna and Lola.

When I graduated from Arizona State, my time at the fitness complex was coming to an end and I had to start job hunting. Jobs in December - especially within the aviation industry - were slim to none. Most were seasonal or internships that wouldn’t begin until the spring. I happened to be scrolling on LinkedIn just before graduation and found an

open receptionist position here at Red Rock. Funny enough, a group in my aviation capstone class had done their project on Red Rock so I knew a little about them before going into the interview. Brie, Anna, and Jordie were some of the most fun interviewers I had the pleasure of sitting down with and they made me really excited about the job position.

Everyone knows the saying “we’re like a family here” but I believe that Red Rock truly embodies that statement.

You can see it in the way they treat their clients, their employees, and virtually anyone who walks through their door. I knew I was in the right place when I had only been there for three days but I was welcomed like a seasoned employee at their company Christmas party. I’m proud to be a part of the Red Rock family.
